Let me set the scene for you: yesterday morning, I embarked on the ultimate Christmas tree quest. It started at Michaels, then Home Depot, followed by Costco, Canadian Tire, and—believe it or not—back to Home Depot. Along the way, I met a lovely couple at Michaels who were on the same mission, hopping from store to store just like me. We ended up laughing about our shared obsession, but while they settled on a beautiful tree from Costco, I knew it wasn’t the one for me.
I was determined to find a tree that truly lit me up (pun intended). I had my heart set on the viral Grand Duchess tree that’s been taking over influencer feeds. But here’s the twist: I didn’t find it. Instead, I stumbled upon something even better—more stunning, with similar features. And yes, I negotiated $100 off the floor model at Home Depot! Now, as I sit here writing this, I have to say… OMG. I am in love.
This whole experience reminded me of something: sometimes you have to search high and low, sift through options, and maybe even take a chance on something unexpected to find what truly brings you joy.
That brings me to today’s thought:
If you were an observer looking in at your life, what is ONE thing you would change?
Much like my tree journey, there may be something in your life—a habit, a routine, or even a perspective—that’s no longer lighting you up. What if you took a step back, looked at your life through an observer’s lens, and made a change?
Oh, and in case you’re wondering what I’ll do with my old tree—I’m looking for a family in need to gift it to.
Wishing you a week filled with discovery, joy, and maybe even a little sparkle!
